Here is some of the furniture I currently have on hand. The listed prices exclude sales tax and the cost of shipping or delivery. Please call or email if you would like to have one of these items in your home.
Black Walnut Armoire
This elegant modern armoire is built from a lovely Black Walnut tree harvested in West Virginia. The sweeping curves and flared cove moulding really draw the eye upward, lending this hefty piece of furniture a certain appearance of lightness. The three red oak drawers feature hand-cut dovetails and full extension, soft closing drawer slides. Combined with the shelving inside the upper cabinet, these deep drawers maximize the available storage. The lighter color of the shiplapped Butternut back seems to shine from within the cabinet when the two large doors are opened. The hand-rubbed oil/polyurethane finish really brings out the beauty of the wood grain. This armoire will make a perfect complement to existing bedroom furniture or a start to a complete set if so desired.
Butternut and Black Walnut Coffeetable
This lovely piece of furniture is a functional display of exposed joinery. Built from golden Butternut with a Black Walnut base and Ebony accents, this coffee table is as strong as it is elegant. From the hand-cut dovetails of the drawers to the wedged tenons on the legs and stretcher, the joinery has been carefully crafted for durability and beauty. The two-way drawers are held in their "home" position by strong neodymium magnets, allowing them to be opened from either side with a sharp tug. It is finished with several coats of a hand-rubbed oil/polyurethane mix. [Please forgive the dullness of the photos. I'm currently without photo editing software!]
Butternut and Black Walnut Desk Chair
Inspired by the sculpted work of Sam Maloof, this comfortable chair is perfect for sitting at a desk or a dining room table. Both the seat and back splats are made by laminating Butternut and Black Walnut, and both are curved for maximum comfort. The legs are joined to the seat with an exposed mortise and tenon joint that is both beautiful and strong, and this same durable strength characterizes the hand-rubbed oil/polyurethane finish. This light, sturdy chair is functional art at its best.
Black Walnut Bar Stool
I currently have two of these sculpted bar stools, which are the perfect height for sitting at a 38–40" bar. Also built in the style of Sam Maloof, these stools feature sinuous curves and strong joinery. The seats are sculpted from curly Walnut, and the figure in the wood—accentuated by three coats of my oil/polyurethane finish—really gives these pieces a stunningly unique beauty.
